Media & Spokesperson Training

We’re former journalists who’ve sat on both sides of the microphone, and that’s what makes our Media & Spokesperson Training different. Between us, we’ve conducted thousands of interviews as reporters and worked in some of the busiest newsrooms in the country and abroad. Now, as communicators, we still regularly appear in the news, on panels and podcasts. 

 

We know what is newsworthy, how journalists and editors think, and what they’re looking for in today’s 24/7 social media world. 

 

We bring an outside lens and a deep understanding of both mainstream and alternative media to help you recognize the story you might be too close to see – and determine who is best suited to tell it. We've built strong relationships with reporters across the country, and we know what lands. 

 

Good media coverage doesn’t happen by accident. Since launching Champion in 2019, we’ve media-trained hundreds of people – from seasoned politicians and CEOs to nonprofit staff doing their first-ever interview. 

 

Our Media & Spokesperson Training sessions are practical, focused, and fully customized. We walk attendees through Canada’s evolving media landscape, dive deep into key message training, and simulate real interviews and scrums with a minimum of two facilitators. 

 

Whether you’re joining a local podcast for a friendly feature interview, providing live on-camera comment to a news station, or navigating a high-stakes crisis that national newspaper reporters are covering, we make sure you’re ready and confident to take on any platform.
